The VBVA crew who travelled across to Adelaide, had a great set of results... some in their first ever national event. Here were the standouts:
We have to start with our new Division 1 SILVER MEDALIST Jimmy Jamz! James and partner Justin had to do it the hard way, having lost their first game of pool play in straight sets, and scraping through their next in three tough sets. From there on, though, they won their next three games 2-0; beating former Olympian (Justin's bro) Damo Schumann in the semi. They ran out of steam in the final, but what an effort!
Former crew Klaas and Garang finished 4th.
In Div 1 women, a sick Lucia was replaced on Thursday night, by Talia, who, with Evie, won all three qualifying games to make the main draw. Their first game... against the rested eventual gold medalists, milutinovic/Fejes. They lost, and finsihed equal 13th.
In Div 3 Men, Brock and Bobby pulled out a Bronze finish; rolling through the division undefeated, until their semi-final loss to a NSW pair, who went on to win Gold.
In Div 4 Men, Lenny and partner Ben grabbed SILVER after beating Leo and Seb in their semi-final. Their final, against older youngsters Ryan and Nate, was a closely fought 2-1 loss. Leo and Seb finished 4th.
Great work to all the crew who travelled across to Adelaide.

James and new partner Justin pulled out a win in the Men's AAA event, beating former VBVA alumni Klaas and Garang 16-14 in the third. It was James' first Victorian AAA win.
In the AAA women, Lucia and Evie lost their semi to former Olympian Tamsin and her partner Laura. Special mention to Ava and her partner Maddy, taking a set off eventual winners Taryn and Genel, in their first AAA event.
In A Women, another former VBVA player, Mia and her partner, Shelby, grabbed a final win, beating Stella and her partner Angie in what was the toughest A tournament of the season.
In B Women, Elis and partner Nanami lost a close final, having beaten Tegan and her partner, Lucinda in their semi final.
Some great results in what was the strongest VicBeach of the season, to date. Have a great festive break, everyone!
Hyperbole aside, this was a massive tournament for our crew. From AAA to B, we had wins, finalists and semi-finalists. We had a bunch in the quarters, too... but, given this is a 'brief' story, we'll point out the final four in each division only. Awesome work by all who played.
AAA... First tournament back since the national tour in season 24/25, saw the La Terra sisters, Lucia and Evie, lose a close AAA final to top seeds Taryn and Lucie. In the Men's, Max made his first AAA semi-final, losing to eventual winners Matt and old VBVA lad, Garang.
In AA, Ava and partner Maddy ensured their next tournament will be in AAA, with a comfortable straight sets win in their final. Sanjit and Ryan made the result a little more tense, scraping through to win their final 15-11 in the third.
In A, Leo and partner Buckley, slogged through a rough match to win their final. Lenny and partner, Ben, losing their semi to Leo and Buckley's eventual final opponents. In the Women's, Charlotte and partner Jasmine, lost a close final 12-15 in the third. They beat Elis and her partner, Anya, in the semi's. Solenne and Tegan lost the other semi to the division winners.
In B Men, Seb, playing with partner Nathan, lost the final in two sets.
A fantastic set of results across every division... way to represent, peoples.

With each new season comes a new tee... and sometimes, that new tee looks more like a singlet. We had a large number of you begging us last season to bring out a singlet... so we've listened. It's a unisex style, lightweight, quick drying, 100% polyester singlet we'll be selling at $40.
We will have a tee option, too. More info on that to follow.
For those wanting to get a feel of the fabric, they're going to be the same as the Asia camp singlets, now scattered around the beach.
Once they go up on the Deep Corner Moose site, they'll be the full price.
Yes, you can pick up from the beach, once they arrive. Email bam@vbva.com.au or respond in the Whatsapp group to the pinned post.

Here is the full local and National calendar for the 25-26 season.
You'll note the abundance of Vic Beach Tour events, with a back of season-heavy run of national events. The youth beach champs have been moved forward, now sitting on the date VBVA usually run our annual Sydney (Newcastle in 25) camp. We're looking into whether we keep it on the same date, given we have so many of the older crew ageing out... or whether we move it into the Grand Final long weekend. We'll get back to you on that.
If you're planning on playing your first events this season, we'll have an info page on how best to get started.
Pop the dates in your calendar!
You'll notice there are a bunch of Saturday tournaments. Other than the Vic Open, for all other Saturday events, we'll be running training on the Sunday. We'll have those updates in the Whatsapp group.
The new season is almost upon us, so too, the Spring school holidays.
We have two camps, on Saturday 24th September and Wednesday 1st October.
If you're keen to get involved, book your place.
